Boston

This was not on our list. After the Skegness disaster, we had some time to kill so we stopped in the delightful market town of Boston. On the route down, before the atrocious seaside town that will never be mentioned again, we crossed the Humber on the Humber Bridge. Note the pedantry there please, we did not cross the Humber Bridge, we crossed the Humber on the Humber Bridge. The lookout point on the south side of the bridge proved to be a wonderful pink-chair moment.

From the Humber Bridge to Boston is around two hours travel for a normal person. It’s eleven hours 37 minutes if you are a robot called Google. Two hours driving requires a release-the-belt, actually, anything over one hour usually requires a release-the-belt. The question is do you release-the-belt at the start or after an hour. This flummoxed Anne, but for any guy who wears a belt, you know what I’m talking about.

While in St Botolph’s Church, yes amazing, it is a church not a cathedral, Anne paid one pound to add a lego piece to a lego model they are taking 3 years to build. As you can see from the picture this entailed adding a flat 8 to a flat 12. That was it! Could she add it to the actual model? Nope.

On to the next B&B this time in Duxford. It appears that all B&B owners are called Janet. Janet in Wooler, Janet in York and Janet in Duxford. Husbands take a backstage job in B&Bs. We met Janet in Duxford’s husband tonight. His name was John.
